INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.
By the President: Senate Bill No. 184, entitled "An Act
to declare the sanction and consent of the General Assembly
of Maryland to a bequest to the Walbrook Methodist Episco-
pal Church contained in the last will and testament of Ben-
jamin C. Nicoll, late of Baltimore city, deceased. " [Which
was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Judicial Proceedings. ]
By Mr. Norris: Senate Bill No. 185, entitled "An. Act to
fix the compensation of the Sheriff of Baltimore city; also
authorizing the employment of a chief deputy and such other
deputies and the payment of such salaries and such expenses
as may be necessary to the conduct of his office, and also to
provide for the payment of additional compensation to said
Sheriff from the date of his incumbency in the year 1913. "

By Mr. Johnson: Senate Bill No. 186, entitled "An Act to
provide for the completion of the State road leading from
Ellicott City to Snell's Bridge in Howard county, Maryland,
formerly known as the Ellicott City and Clarkville Turnpike
road in Howard county, Maryland, and to appropriate a sum
of money for the purpose of completing the construction of
the same. " [Which was read the first time and referred to
the Committee on Finance. ]
By Mr. Jones: Senate Bill No. 187,. entitled "An Act to pro-
vide for the partial support of mothers whose husbands are
dead, when such mothers have children under fourteen (14)
years of age, and are residents of the City of Baltimore and
State of Maryland, and of the county in which application
for relief is made. And, also to provide for visitation, care
and supervision of the family within the State of Maryland for
whose benefit such support is provided and to promote home
life for dependent children under the guidance and protection
of the mother. And, also as to the administration of this
Act, amount of payment, eligibility, investigation, penalties
and. reports. And, also providing for the appointment of a
Board of three members in Baltimore city, to be known as the
Board for Mothers' Relief for Baltimore city, and authorizing
the County Commissioners of the counties of this State to
carry out the provisions of this Act in their, respective coun-
ties, and providing for the levying of a tax for carrying out
the provisions of this Act. " [Which was read the first time
and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]
