That on August 31, 1915, the above bids were opened by the
Board of Public Works, and it appearing that King Brothers
being the lowest bidders, the contract for said printing was
accordingly awarded that company, and that afterwards, on
the sixteenth day of September, 1915, the Board of Public
Works executed and signed, in duplicate, the following con-
tract with said King Brothers:
CONTRACT FOR STATE PRINTING FOR THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
OF 1916.
Articles of Agreement, made and concluded this sixteenth
day of September, 1915, by and between the Board of Public
Works of the State of Maryland, party of the first part, and
King Brothers, 413 E. Lexington street, Baltimore, Maryland,
party of the second part.
Witnesseth, That, whereas, the said party of the second
part has transmitted to the party of the first part, a bid,
based upon specifications furnished by said party of the first
part, for printing for the General Assembly of Maryland,
Session of 1916, in pursuance of the provisions of Article 78
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, as repealed
and re-enacted by Chapter 206 of the Acts of 1908, a copy of
which said bid is hereto annexed and is hereby made a part
of these presents; the party of the first part having, at a
meeting held in the City of Annapolis on the thirty-first day of
August, 1915, awarded the contract for said printing to the
party of the second part, they having been the lowest bidder
therefor, at the price stipulated in said bid, to wit: eighteen
thousand four hundred and ninety dollars ($18, 490. 00).
Now, Therefore, in Consideration of the Premises, The said
party of the second part covenants and agrees to do the
printing required by the provisions of the aforesaid Article
78 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, as re-
pealed and re-enacted by Chapter 206 of the Acts of 1908,
to be done for the 1916 session of the General Assembly
