SUBJECT: BAILIFF TO GRAND JURY—HARFORD
COUNTY.

[Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas and
nay s y as amended"]

Amendments proposed by Honse of Delegates:

No. 1—"In line 4 of the title of the printed Bill, after the
words 'shall receive,' insert the following: 'and the amounts
each of the other bailiff's of said court shall receive.7 "

No. 2—"After the word 'summoned,' inline 5 of Section-1,
on page 1 of the printed Bill, insert the following: 'and the
other bailiffs of said court shall each receive the sum of
three dollars for every day they shall attend said court,7 "

No. 3—"Strike out the word 'amount,' in line 5 of Section 1,
on page 1 of the printed Bill, and insert in lieu thereof the
word 'compensation.' "

On motion of Mr. Archer, the House amendments were con-
curred in and Bill, as amended, was passed by yeas and nays
as follows:

A FERRY FROM CLAIBORNE TO ANNAPOLIS.

Amendment proposed by House of Delegates: "Strike out
all of Section 2 of the Bill, as printed for third reading and
insert in lieu thereof the following:

* Section 2. And be it further enacted, That the sum of
fifty thousand ($50,000) be and the same is hereby appropria-
ted for the purpose of carrying out and' making effective the
provisions of this Act; provided, however, that said sum
hereby appropriated shall not be available unless and until
the State Roads Commission shall in the exercise of their
discretion establish the ferry hereby authorized.'??
