HOUSE BILLS—FIRST READING.
The President distributed the following message from the
House of Delegates, being House Bill No. 896, entitled "An
Act permitting military organizations to play patriotic and
sacred music, on Sunday, for patriotic or memorial purposes,
on public thoroughfares and in public places. " [Endorsed:
"Read the third time and passed by yeas and nays. "] [Which
was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Militia. ]
Also House Bill No. 809, entitled "An Act to provide for
the continuance of causes of action pending in the Common
Law and Equity Courts of the. City of Baltimore and in the
Circuit Courts of the counties of the State of Maryland. "
[Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas and
nays. "] [Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]
Also House Bill No. 806, entitled "An Act to regulate the
number of cases which can be placed in the assignment for
trial for any one day in any of the Common Law Courts of
the City of Baltimore. " [Endorsed: "Read the third time and
passed by yeas and nays"] [Which was read the first time
and referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]
Also House Bill No. 839? entitled "An Act to require the
County Commissioners to erect signboards at crossings and
principal forks of public roads in Calvert county. " [Endorsed:
"Read the third time and passed by yeas and nays. "] [Which
was read the first time and referred to Senators Joy, Chesley
and Mudd. ]
Also House Bill No. 840, entitled "An Act to provide for a
school term of seven months for the colored children and to
fix the salaries of teachers in colored schools in Calvert
county, and to direct the County Commissioners to levy a
sufficient sum or money to meet the expenses therefor. " [En-
dorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas and nays. "]
