Edition), and Section 74-85 of the Montgomery County Code (1955
Edition), being Articles 17 and 16, respectively, of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, titles "Prince George's County" and "Mont-
gomery County", sub-title "Washington Suburban Sanitary Dis-
trict", as said section was enacted by Chapter 733 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1947, relating to the accumula-
tion of annual leave and sick leave by employees of the Washington
Suburban Sanitary Commission and removing the restriction as to
accumulation of sick leave by an employee of said Commission.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1620 of the Code of Public Locals Laws of Prince
George's County (1953 Edition), and Section 74-85 of the Mont-
gomery County Code (1955 Edition), being, respectively, Articles
17 and 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, titles
"Prince George's County", and "Montgomery County", sub-title
"Washington Suburban Sanitary District", as said section was en-
acted by Chapter 733 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1947, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

1620. (74-85) Every classified employee shall receive as vacation
in each calendar year a leave of absence with pay of one and one-half
working days for every month actually worked during the preceding
year. In addition to such annual leave any employee shall be en-
titled to sick leave with pay for not in excess of fifteen working days
in any calendar year; provided, however, that if any employee in
any calendar year uses less than the full amount of sick leave allow-
able, such unused leave shall be accumulative up to sixty working
days or more as the Commission may prescribe by rule and shall be
available to such employee for sick leave at any time. Any employee
using three or more consecutive days' sick leave shall present a
certificate from a duly licensed physician before receiving any pay
for the period of such absence. The said Commission may, by rule,
provide for granting leaves of absence for longer periods with pay
or with part pay to employees who may be disabled either through
injury or illness as a result of or arising from their respective em-
ployment, and shall make such rules as may be necessary to carry
out the provisions of this section. Any unused leave accumulated by
any of the employees of the Commission on June 1, [1947] 1961,
shall be credited to their respective leave records.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
