Maryland - Washington - Metropolitan District within Prince
George's County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 22 (e) be and it is hereby added to Chapter 780
of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1959, to follow immediately
after Section 22 (d) thereof, the Act of 1959 having enacted the sub-
title "Park and Planning Commission", to be added to the Mont-
gomery County Code—1955, being Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1953 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), said Section 22 (e) being in the sub-
heading "Metropolitan District", and to read as follows:
22. Boundaries of the Metropolitan District.
(e) 1961 Addition in Prince George's County.—The Boundaries of
the Metropolitan District are extended by the addition thereto of the
five (5) following described areas, which said areas shall hereafter
become integral portions of the Metropolitan District:
(1) Beginning at the northeasternmost corner of the Vansville
Election District (No. 1) at its intersection with Brock Bridge Road
and Bowie Road, thence in a northeasterly direction along Brock
Bridge Road, being the dividing line between the Laurel Election
District (No. 10) and the Bowie Election District (No. Ik), approxi-
mately 0.3 mile to its intersection with the Patuxent River, being
the County line; thence southeasterly with the Patuxent River and
the County line to its intersection with the westerly right-of-way
line of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway; thence southerly with
and along the westerly right-of-way line of said, parkway approxi-
mately 2.3 miles to its intersection with Swampoodle Road, being a
leg of the dividing line between the Vansville Election District (No.
1) and the Bowie Election District (No. 14); thence in a north-
westerly and northeasterly direction along said dividing line ap-
proximately 2.8 miles to the place of beginning.
(2) All of the Berwyn Election District (No. 21) not previously in-
cluded within said Metropolitan District, excepting therefrom how-
ever, the Town of Greenbelt. A PORTION OF THE CITY OF THE
CITY OF GREENBELT. AS ITS CORPORATE LIMITS ARE DE-
FINED, GREENBELT DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING
ATH THE POINT OF INTERSECTION OF THE EXISTING MET-
ROPOLITAN DISTRICT BOUNDARY AND THE CENTER LINE
OF GREENBELT ROAD, SAID POINT BEING APPROXIMATE-
LY 0.4 MILES EAST Off THE INTERSECTION OF THE CENTER
LINES OF GREENBELT ROAD AND KENILWORTH AVENUE;
THENCE EASTERLY ABOUT 0.6 MILE ALONG THE CENTER
LINE OF GREENBELT ROAD TO ITS POINT OF INTERSEC-
TION WITH THE WESTERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF THE
WASHINGTON-BALTIMORE PARKWAY ; THENCE NORTH-
EASTERLY ABOUT 1.5 MILES ALONG THE AFORESAID
RIGHT OF WAY LINE TO ITS POINT OF INTERSECTION WITH
THE EASTERLY BOUNDARY LINE OF THE CITY OF GREEN-
BELT; THENCE NORTHHEASTERLY ABOUT 0.65 MILE ALONG
THE AFORESAID BOUNDARY LINE TO ITS POINT OF INTER-
SECTION WITH THE NORTHERLY BOUNDARY LINE OF
THE CITY OF GREENBELT; THENCE WESTERLY ABOUT
