CHAPTER 534
(House Bill 545)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 112 (b)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrates System",
to change the compensation of the clerical assistants to the trial
magistrates of Charles County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 112 (b) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Trial
Magistrates System", be and the same are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
112.
(b) In Charles County, clerical assistants shall be appointed by
the trial magistrates of said county, and shall, on and after January
1, [1959] 1961, receive an annual compensation [of $3,000] not
exceeding three thousand and six hundred dollars ($3,600.00).
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 535
(House Bill 558)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 51 (g)
of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "County Commissioners", sub-title "County Treasurers", to
increase the salary of the County Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer
of Charles County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 51 (g) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition) title "County Commissioners", sub-title "County
Treasurers", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
51 (g).
The county treasurer of Charles County shall receive an annual
salary of [$5,000.00] $6,000.00. The salary of the assistant treasurer
shall [be $3,000.00] not exceed $3,600.00 per annum.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
