sub-title "County Commissioners and County Collectors", to follow
immediately after Section 61 thereof and to read as follows:

61A.

Any regular employee of Howard County shall have the right to
retire, and the Board of County Commissioners may effect the re-
tirement of any such employee, when he or she shall have reached
the age of 65 years. In the event that such employee shall have
been employed by said county for a period of 15 years prior to the
date of his or her retirement under the provisions hereof, the said
Board of County Commissioners are IS hereby authorized and em-
powered to pay unto such retired person an annual sum of $1,200.00,
payable in equal monthly installments on the first day of each and
every month during the lifetime of such retired person, accounting
from the date of such retirement.

The term "regular employee" as used herein shall not be con-
strued to include an employee who is employed periodically or
intermittently nor any person who performs on a contractual basis.

Nothing herein contained shall have the effect of limiting the
power of said Board of County Commissioners to discharge any
County employee.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

(House Bill 535)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 125 (a)
and 125 (c) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Howard County
(1957 Edition, being Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Howard County", sub-title "Metropolitan
Commission", relating to the composition and appointment of the
Metropolitan Commission and to the instances in which and man-
ner by which matters before the Metropolitan Commission shall
be determined by the Board of County Commissioners.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 125 (a) and 125 (c) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Howard County (1957 Edition, being Article 14 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Howard County", sub-title
"Metropolitan Commission", be and is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
