(House Bill 367)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 521 (a)
of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960 Supple-
ment), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Sabbath Break-
ing", amending the laws concerning the sale, distribution of,
barter, dealing in, or giving away of certain articles of merchan-
dise on Sundays in order to provide that retailers may sell and
deliver vegetables on that day.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 521 (a) of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1960 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title
"Sabbath Breaking", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
521.
(a) No person in this State shall sell, dispose of, barter, or deal
in, or give away any articles of merchandise on Sunday, except re-
tailers, who may sell and deliver on said day tobacco, cigars, ciga-
rettes, candy, sodas and soft drinks, ice, ice cream, ices and other
confectionery, milk, bread, fruits, vegetables, gasoline, oils and
greases.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

FREDERICK COUNTY CODE, 1959, being Article 11 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Frederick County", sub-
title "Part I. General Local Laws", sub-heading "Taxation and
Finance" "FINANCE AND TAXATION", relating to the sum
which the county commissioners of Frederick County can borrow
without specific legislative authority to make the loan.
