a period of one year against such operator or chauffeur, for any
offenses under this Article involving a motor vehicle actually in
motion. Such refusal, revocation or suspension shall be for a
period of not less than thirty days. If the Department receives a
record of [another final] two additional convictions within this
State against such operator or chauffeur while he is still under
twenty-one years of age, for any offense under this Article involving
a motor vehicle actually in motion, the Department shall forthwith
refuse or revoke the license of such operator or chauffeur, and any
person whose license is or has been previously revoked, is eligible
to apply for reinstatement after the expiration of three months in
accordance with Section 106.                                                 

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 499
(House Bill 343)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 31 of
Article 88B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Ed.), title
"State Police", sub-title "Pensions", and sub-sections (l)(a) and
(c) of Section 53 of said Article and title, sub-title "State Police
Retirement System", excepting the physician of the Department
from the provisions thereof, and providing for his voluntary re-
tirement at the age of 65 and mandatory retirement at the age of
70.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 31 of Article 88B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Ed.), title "State Police", sub-title "Pensions", and sub-sec-
tions (l)(a) and (c) of Section 53 of said Article and title, sub-title
"State Police Retirement System", be and they are hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

31. Employees who have elected not to become members of State
Police Retirement System.

(a) Whenever any of the employees of the Department of Mary-
land State Police, who have elected not to become members of the
State Police Retirement System of the State of Maryland, and any
of the license examiners of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles shall
have given meritorious service as such employee for a period of
fifteen continuous years, and shall have reached the age of 55 years,
excepting the physician of the Department who shall have reached
the age of 65 years,
such employee shall be eligible for retirement
forthwith upon his voluntary application or may be retired by the
Superintendent of the Department of Maryland State Police. Such
employees shall retire forthwith upon reaching the age of 64, except-
ing the physician of the Department who shall be retired forthwith
upon reaching the age of 70.
