required; or (c) wilfully makes any false statement or misleading
omission in any return filed as required; or (d) violates the provisions
of any resolution, or ordinance, or law adopted under the authority
of this section, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof, shall be fined not more than $500.00, or imprisoned for not
more than six months, or both.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

(House Bill 216)
AN ACT to repeal and reenact, with amendments, sub-section (c) of
Section 233 of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition, 1960 Cumulative Supplement), title "Motor Ve-
hicles", sub-title "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways", relating
to the effect of a "yield" sign and a "yield right of way" sign.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-section (c) of Section 233 of Article 66½ of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition, 1960 Cumulative Supplement),
title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of Vehicles Upon High-
ways", be and it is hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
233.
(c) The driver of a vehicle on a street or roadway on which a
"yield right of way" or "yield" sign is erected facing said driver on
the approach to an intersection or merging point with another street
or roadway shall approach with caution and shall yield the right of
way to vehicles approaching from the right or left on the other street
or roadway stopping if necessary to yield the right of way.
Sec. 2. And be further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
