CHAPTER 469
(House Bill 593)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 39A
(d) of Article 88A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960
Supplement), title "State Department of Public Welfare", sub-
title "Maryland Children's Center", amending the laws with re-
spect to the Maryland Children's Center in order to change the
sum chargeable for the care and study of each child therein.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 39A (d) of Article 88A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1960 Supplement), title "State Department of Public
Welfare", sub-title "Maryland Children's Center", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

39A.

(d) During the period that any child may be placed in the cus-
tody of the Maryland Children's Center pursuant to the provisions
of this subtitle, the county (or Baltimore City) where the child
resided at the time of his admission to the Maryland Children's
Center, shall be chargeable [a sum] with the sum of one hundred
and eighty dollars ($180.00) per annum
for each child under care
and study [equal to one half of the current per capita cost per day,
said cost to be determined by the Department of Budget and Pro-
curement and certified to said counties and Baltimore City]. It
shall be the duty of the State Department of Public Welfare, or its
agent or agents, to furnish the board of county commissioners or to
the comptroller of Baltimore City, a quarterly statement giving the
number and names of all such children from the particular political
subdivision and the total amount due therefor. The State Depart-
ment of Public Welfare shall also certify to the State Comptroller
the amount due from each of the several counties and from Balti-
more City, and it shall be the duty of the State Comptroller to
collect these respective sums from the counties and Baltimore City.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1961.

(House Bill 610)

AN ACT to add new Section 47A to Article 66C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-
title "Agriculture", sub-heading "In General" to follow immediately
after Section 47 thereof, creating an Agricultural Advisory Board
