BUILDING, but no lot so taken or enlarged shall exceed, in the whole,
forty five [thirty] across; including the land occupied by the school
buildings.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public peace, health and safety and for the promotion
of the general welfare of the public, and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 452
(House Bill 351)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 71 (a),
71 (b) and 71 (c) of Chapter 780 of the Acts of 1959, this Act having
enacted the sub-title "Park AND Planning Commission", having
added this sub-title to the Montgomery County Code (1955
Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, and having also added this sub-title to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edition)
being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
said Sections 71 (a), 71 (b) and 71 (c) being in the sub-heading
"Regional District", relating to subdivision regulations in the
Maryland-Washington Regional District and to the provisions in
such regulations and the procedures applicable to them and their
enforcement.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 71 (a), 71 (b) and 71 (c) of Chapter 780 of the Acts of
1959, this Act having enacted the sub-title "Park Planning Commis-
sion", haying added this sub-title to the Montgomery County Code
(1955 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, and haying also added this sub-title to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953 Edition) being Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, said Sections 71
(a), 71 (b) and 71 (c) being in the sub-heading "Regional District",
be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments,
to read as follows:

71.

(a) In exercising the powers granted to it by Section 70 of this
sub-title, the Commission or the governing body of either county
may prepare regulations and amendments thereto governing the
sub-division of land within the Regional District or the respective
portions of the Regional District within Montgomery or Prince
George's County. The regulations and amendments shall be adopted
by the respective governing bodies of the counties, with such changes
as they may deem appropriate, and shall be effective from the date
of adoption or from such other date as the governing body may
