CHAPTER 443

(Senate Bill 530)

AN ACT to add new Section 120A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Charles County (1959 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County", sub-title
"Fire Companies", enabling the County Commissioners of Charles
County, with the approval of the Charles County Firemen's Asso-
ciation, to make appropriations to new volunteer fire departments
in said county. , UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 120A be and is hereby added to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Charles County (1959 Edition, being Article 9 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County",
sub-title "Fire Companies", and to read as follows:

120A.

The County Commissioners of Charles County may annually ap-
propriate such funds as they deem necessary for the support, main-
tenance, equipment and operation of additional volunteer fire depart-
ments which may be constructed in Charles County in areas approved
by the Charles County Firemen's Association. Such annual appro-
priations may be made only with the annual approval WHEN SUCH
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN ORGANIZED
AND HAS MET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS of the Charles
County Firemen's Association.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
