(No part of the proceeds of the sale of the certificates of indebtedness
authorized by this Act shall be expended in Howard County or at
any location in Queen Anne's County which is not now under juris-
diction of the Department of Correction or at Sandy Point Park.)
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 8 of said Chapter
804 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1959 is amended to the
extent necessary to renew the provisions thereof for a period of two
years from the effective date of this Act with respect to: (1) the
change herein made for the Department of Correction; (2) an item
in said Chapter 804 and found on page 1345 of the Laws of 1959,
making available to the State Department of Public Welfare the sum
of $455,000 for the construction of a Southern Regional Detention
Center; and (3) an item in said Chapter 804 and found on page 1351
of the Laws of 1959, making available to the University of Maryland
the sum of $1,000,000 for the acquisition of land and properties for
expansion of the Baltimore Campus and assisting the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore in defraying the costs of redevelopment in
the area in which any land shall be acquired for such expansion. Ex-
cept as specifically provided otherwise in this Section, the provisions
of Section 8 of Chapter 804 of the Acts of 1959 are not changed.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
