CHAPTER 413
(Senate Bill 445)
AN ACT to add new Section 206A to Article 19 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County",
sub-title "Sheriff", to follow immediately after Section 206 thereof
as amended by Laws of Maryland 1943, Chapter 628, regarding
the levy, seizure and appraisal of personal property by the Sheriff
of St. Mary's County and the fee for appraisal. SPECIFYING
THAT NO FEE BE CHARGED FOR THIS SERVICE.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 206A be and is hereby added to Article 19 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St.
Mary's County", sub-title "Sheriff", to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 206 thereof, as amended by Laws of Maryland 1943, Chapter 628,
and to read as follows:
206A.
Whenever the Sheriff of St. Mary's is directed by a lawful writ to
levy upon or seize personal property within the County, he shall do
so forthwith and shall, upon the receipt of $2.00 from the person
causing such writ to issue, cause the personal property so levied upon
or seized to be appraised either by himself or another person quali-
fied so to do, such fee to be charged as an expense of the levy or
seizure. WITHOUT FEE.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1,1961.

CHAPTER 414
(Senate Bill 446)
AN ACT to authorize and empower the county commissioners of St.
Mary's County to borrow, upon the faith and credit of the county,
a sum or sums of money not to exceed in the aggregate the sum of
two million dollars ($2,000,000.00), and to evidence such borrow-
ing by the issuance and sale of the general obligation bonds of the
county in such form and bearing such rate or rates of interest as
