Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 402
(Senate Bill 399)

AN ACT to add new Section 203A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Washington County (1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Washington County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow immediately after
Section 203 thereof, to direct the County Commissioners of Wash-
ington County to appoint a Commission to study the feasibility and
necessity of home rule for the county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 203A be and the same is hereby added to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Washington County (1957 Edition, being
Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Washington County", sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow
immediately after Section 203 thereof, and to read as follows:

203 A.

(a). The County Commissioners are authorized and directed to
appoint a commission to study the feasibility and necessity of estab-
lishing
home rule for Washington County pursuant to the provisions
of Article XI-A of the Constitution of Maryland for chartered coun-
ties, or in lieu thereof, to propose such changes as may be desirable or
necessary in the county commissioner form of government.
