AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 547 of the
Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition,
being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Commissioner", sub-heading
"Policewomen", providing that Policewomen appointed within the
Police Department of Baltimore City shall be subject generally to
the same requirements and procedures as apply to male candidates
for appointment or promotion in the Police Forcer AND THAT
CROSSING GUARDS AND METER MAIDS SHALL BE SUB-
JECT TO AN EXAMINATION AS PROVIDED FOR BY THE
POLICE COMMISSIONER.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 547 of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore
City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Commissioner",
sub-heading "Policewomen", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

547. [The Policewoman appointed under authority of this sub-
heading shall not be required to pass examination for appointment
by the Examining Authority.]
