(1930 Edition), title "Worcester County", sub-title "Foxes", re-
moving from the local laws concerning foxes in Worcester County
references to the payment of fines to informers, and clarifying the
provisions of such local laws.

Whereas, In the local laws of Worcester County concerning foxes
there are provisions referring to the payment of fines to informers;
and

Whereas, Under Section 3 of Article 38 in the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), it is provided that informers' fees are abol-
ished; and

Whereas, It is desirable to correct these obsolete references to the
payment of fees to informers and at the same time to clarify other
provisions in the local laws relating to foxes in Worcester County;
now, therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 82 and 83 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester County", sub-title
"Foxes", be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

82.   It shall be unlawful to sell, or expose for sale, any fox, or any
[for] fox hide in Worcester [,] and Somerset Counties, and it shall
be unlawful to ship by freight or express, or otherwise, or to take any
fox, or any fox hide, from any place within said State to any place
outside of said State. Any person or persons violating the provisions
of this section [of this Act] shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof in the Circuit Court of said counties shall
be fined in a sum not exceeding Fifty Dollars, or imprisoned for a
term not exceeding ten days, in the discretion of the Court. [One-half
of all fines collected under the provisions of this Act shall go to the
informer.]

83.   It shall be unlawful for any person to dig out or in any manner
to take from any den a female fox, or her young whelps, or kill or in
any manner cause the death of such female fox, or her young whelps,
during the period of time in which she is suckling them. Any person
or persons violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof in the Circuit Court of
said counties shall be fined not less than Ten Dollars nor more than
Fifty Dollars, or imprisoned for a term not exceeding ten days, for
every female fox or whelp so dug or taken out of any den, or killed or
caused to be killed. [One-half of all fines collected under this Act
shall go to the informer.]

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
