except by check, warrant or draft as aforesaid. [, and all checks so
drawn by him shall be drawn from a check book with stubs, and
shall be regularly dated and numbered, and the stub of each check
drawn shall correctly describe the check and the object for which
it was drawn particularly; the stubs shall be signed and countersigned
in the same manner as the check drawn therefrom; and the bank
book showing the condition of the bank account aforesaid shall be
kept regularly posted, or he shall reserve out of the money collected
by him for county purposes generally and public schools a sufficient
sum to pay the amount levied in each current year by said com-
missioners for public schools, and shall pay the same over to the
Board of County School Commissioners of said county, as follows:
One-fourth on or before the first day of November next succeeding
the date of the levy; one-fourth on or before the first day of February
next thereafter; one-fourth on or before the first day of April next
thereafter, and the remaining one-fourth on or before the first day
of July next thereafter.] Checks shall be regularly dated and num-
bered and shall show thereon the object for which they were drawn.

It shall be the duty of said County Treasurer to make quarterly
reports to the County Commissioners of Allegany County, showing
fully his receipts and disbursements and the financial condition of
the county as disclosed by his official books and records. Said reports
shall be made on the [first day of April, the first day of July, the
first day of October and the first day of January] tenth day of April,
July, October and January
of each and every year.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 351

(Senate Bill 546)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Howard County (1957 Edition, being
Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Howard County", sub-title "County Commissioners and County
Collectors", increasing the salaries of the County Commissioners
of Howard County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Howard Coun-
ty (1957 Edition, being Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Howard County", sub-title "County Commis-
sioners and County Collectors", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
