in their discretion may elect to use the periods for registration days
which are provided in Section 38 (a) of this Article, rather than the
periods specified in Section 29. In the event the supervisors of elec-
tions of any county shall provide for such registration, the county
commissioners or county council of said county shall make available
sufficient funds to pay the officers of registration designated or
named to make such registration and other necessary expenses.
Either the said supervisors of elections shall appoint two registra-
tion officers (one from each of the two major political parties of the
State) to constitute a board of registry for the purposes of this
section, or one majority member and the minority member of the
board of supervisors of elections may constitute the board of registry
for the purposes of this section. Notice of such additional days and
places of registration shall be given as hereinbefore provided in
Section 12 of this Article; provided, however, that when a regular
schedule for such additional days and places of registration is so
authorized, such notice need be given with respect to such schedule
and not as to the several days and places for such additional regis-
tration.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 31 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Elections", sub-title "Registration by Judges Acting as
Boards of Registry", to change the hours for registration of voters
in Talbot County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 31 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Registration by Judges
Acting as Boards of Registry", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
31.
The hours for registration (other than as provided above for addi-
tional days of registration) shall be from 9 o'clock A. M., until 9
o'clock P. M., except that the board of supervisors of elections in any
county may provide that the registry shall open not earlier than
8 o'clock A. M. or not later than 10 o'clock A. M. and except in Talbot
County from 7 A. M. to 7 P. M., giving notice of such hours of open-
ing and closing the registry as hereinbefore provided in Section 12
of this article.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
