County Commissioners and a separate account kept thereof, and the
aggregate amount of such fees shall be included in the annual budget
of the said Commissioners as an asset of the county.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 51(1) of Article
25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "County
Commissioners", sub-title "County Treasurers", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:
51.
(1) Dorchester County. The county treasurer of Dorchester
County shall receive an annual salary of [$4,000.00] $6,000.00.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That the increase in compen-
sation herein provided for the county treasurer of Dorchester Coun-
ty shall not be construed to take effect as to or to change the compen-
sation of the county treasurer in office at the time this Act becomes
effective; the increase in compensation shall first be effective as to
and paid to the County Treasurer of Dorchester County who takes
office following the regular elections in the month of November, 1962,
as of the beginning of his term of office.
Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

(Senate Bill 42)
AN ACT to repeal Section 199 of Article 10 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Dorchester County", sub-title
"County Commissioners and Treasurer", sub-heading "Taxes",
repealing an obsolete local law of Dorchester County which con-
cerns generally taxes payable on mortgages on real estate.
Whereas, Section 199 of the local laws of Dorchester County
which was enacted in 1914 concerns the tax formerly payable on
mortgages on real estate; and
Whereas, There has been no tax on mortgages on real estate
since the statewide tax laws were revised by Chapter 226 of the
Acts of 1929; and
Whereas, It is desirable to repeal in its entirety this obsolete pro-
vision in the local laws of Dorchester County; now, therefore,
