sand Eight Hundred Thirty-Nine Dollars and Fourteen Cents
($22,839.14) during the fiscal year 1961-62 and direct that said
sum so levied be paid to the City of Salisbury as a reimbursement
for the construction of a twelve inch water main in the Ocean
City Road-Moss Hill Lane area of Wicomico County, Maryland.

Whereas, The Chris Craft Corporation, in 1959, an industrial
firm located in Wicomico County, but outside the City of Salisbury,
made plans to construct a substantial addition to their present indus-
trial plant, whereby employment was to be increased by over 500
workmen; and

Whereas, To construct such addition it became necessary for
the City of Salisbury and the Board of County Commissioners of
Wicomico County to construct a twelve inch water main along the
public roads in the area of said plant, and each political sub-division
agreed to pay for the cost of said main within its respective bound-
aries; and

Whereas, Pursuant to said agreement, the City of Salisbury pro-
ceeded to have said water main constructed and paid all costs of
the same, which said costs amounted to Fifty-Four Thousand Nine
Hundred Sixteen Dollars and Eighty-Nine Cents ($54,916.89) of
which sum the amount of Twenty-Two Thousand Eight Hundred
Thirty Nine Dollars and Fourteen Cents ($22,839.14) was expended
on the line located outside the City of Salisbury and within the
confines of Wicomico County; and

Whereas, As a result thereof, the Chris Craft Corporation did
construct said addition to the plant, thereby greatly increasing the
opportunities of local residents for employment in said plant and
materially benefiting the economy of said Wicomico County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Wicomico County are hereby
authorized and empowered to levy the sum of Twenty-Two Thou-
sand Eight Hundred Thirty-Nine Dollars and Fourteen Cents
($22,839.14) during the fiscal year 1961-62, said sum to be paid to
the City of Salisbury in full payment of the cost of that part of the
water main that was constructed in the year 1959-60 in the Ocean
City Road-Moss Hill Lane area of said County, said main being used
by the plant of the Chris Craft Corporation near Salisbury, Mary-
land.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
