CHAPTER 240
(House Bill 269)

AN ACT to repeal Section 202 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Washington County (1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Washington County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", said section having last been
amended by Chapter 279 of 1959, and to enact new Section 202
in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section repealed, to
authorize the County Commissioners of Washington County to
contribute annually to non-profit organizations in the county,
including fire companies, and to authorize an annual contribution
to two fire companies outside the county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 202 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington
County (1957 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Washington County", sub-title "County
Commissioners", said section having last been amended by Chapter
279 of 1959, be and it is hereby repealed, and that new Section 202
be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of
the section repealed, and to read as follows:

202. The County Commissioners of Washington County are hereby
authorized in their discretion to contribute annually an aggregate
sum not in excess of seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) in any
year to any non-profit organization in the county, including volun-
teer fire companies. Included in the aggregate sum above in any
year shall be a sum not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500) in
any year to each of the following fire companies: The Brunswick,
Maryland Fire Company and the Highfield, Maryland Fire Company.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

Approved March 28, 1961.

CHAPTER 241

(House Bill 289)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 20 (c) and
TO REPEAL SECTION 22 of Article 48 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Inspections", sub-title "Tobac-
co", to permit examination and handling of tobacco in hogsheads
by graders and sales agency representatives, and repealing pro-
visions on the trash or false-parking PACKING of hogsheads of
tobacco.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 20 (c) and 22 of Article 48 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Inspections", sub title "Tobacco",

be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-

ments to read as follows:
