cretion, will progressively and effectively bring the provisions of
this Act into full effect within a minimum of inconvenience to State
and local offices, agencies, and officials during the year beginning
July 1, 1961, and ending June 30, 1962. Such rules and regulations
shall not in any event be effective after June 30, 1962, it being the
legislative intent that the provisions of this Act become fully effec-
tive and applicable not later than July 1, 1962.
Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1961.

(House Bill 121)
AN ACT to add new Section 10-48.1 to the Anne Arundel County Code
(1957 Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Chapter 10.
Fire Protection", sub-heading "Article IV. Finance and Special
Taxes Generally", "Subdivision III. Marley Park Fire Company",
to follow immediately after Section 10-48 thereof, to increase the
fire tax levied in the third precinct of the third election district of
Anne Arundel County and to provide for disposition of the proceeds
of the tax increase.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 10-48.1 be and it is hereby added to the Anne
Arundel County Code (1957 Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County" sub-
title "Chapter 10. Fire Protection", sub-heading "Article IV. Finance
and Special Taxes Generally", "Subdivision III. Marley Park Fire
Company", to follow immediately after Section 10-48 thereof, and
to read as follows:
10-48.1. The County Commissioners are hereby authorized and
directed to levy for the year 1962 and annually thereafter, in addition
to the tax authorized to be levied in Section 10-48 above, a fire tax of
two cents on every one hundred dollars of the assessed value of all
real and personal property located in the third precinct of the third
election district. The proceeds of the additional tax authorized herein
shall be used solely for the purpose of repairing, operating and main-
taining the ambulance, of the company, and shall not be used for the
purposes specified in Section 10-51 herein.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
