CHAPTER 22
(Senate Bill 35)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 163 of
Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Dorchester County", sub-title "County Commis-
sioners and Treasurer", sub-heading "Treasurer", increasing the
amount of the bond to be executed by the Treasurer of Dorchester
County for the faithful performance of his duties as Treasurer
and Collector.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 163 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County", sub-title
"County Commissioners and Treasurer", sub-heading "Treasurer",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read
as follows:
163. The said treasurer before he enters upon the duties of his
said office shall take an oath before the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Dorchester County that he will faithfully perform the duties of
same; and he shall also execute a bond to the State of Maryland, in
the penalty of [sixty] eighty thousand dollars, for the faithful per-
formance of his duties as treasurer and collector of Dorchester
County, and further conditioned that he shall well and truly account
and be liable for any and all moneys coming into his possession as
treasurer and collector, for which he shall be answerable by law,
which bond shall be secured by a fidelity or surety company qualified
to act as surety or guarantor under the laws of the State of Maryland,
and shall be approved by the County Commissioners of Dorchester
County, or a majority of them, and thereafter be recorded in the
office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for said county, and the cost
of said bond shall be borne by the county.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 23
(Senate Bill 36)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 166 of
Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Dorchester County", sub-title "Treasurer", as said
section was last amended by Chapter 421 of the Acts of 1939,
amending the local laws of Dorchester County to correct an obso-
lete reference to the date when the levy for County taxes is to be
made.
