I, Thomas B. Finan, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
DO hereby certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 8, 1960, an Act known as Chapter 803 of the
Acts of 1959, was submitted to the voters of Kent County under the
provisions of Chapter 803 of the Acts of 1959, said Act being as
follows:
"An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 715
(b) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition), title 'Natural Resources', sub-title 'Oysters and
Clams', and to add new Section 715A to said Article and
sub-title, to follow immediately after Section 715 thereof; pro-
viding for the dredging of soft shell clams in the waters of
Kent County; providing for the adoption and promulgation by
the Commission of Tidewater Fisheries of rules and regula-
tions to govern the soft shell clam industry and its operations;
providing for licenses and fees therefor to dredge soft shell
clams; providing for the imposition of a tax per bushel on all
soft shell clams taken or caught; providing for certain re-
stricted areas and times for the taking of said clams; and pro-
viding further for penalties for violations of these sections and
of the rules and regulations of the Commission of Tidewater
Fisheries; and relating generally to the taking or catching of
soft shell clams in Kent County."
and I DO certify, that at said election 2,693 votes were cast in
favor of adoption of Chapter 803 of the Acts of 1959, and 528 votes
were cast against adoption of said Chapter 803 of the Acts of 1959,
the said Act has therefore been ratified by a majority of the qualified
voters of Kent County.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my

Annapolis, this 7th day of December, 1960.
