I, Thomas B. Finan, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition), Do
Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 8, 1960, an Act known as Chapter 64 of the
Acts of 1960, was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland,
pursuant to the provisions of Article 14 of the Constitution of the
State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
"An Act, to propose an amendment to Article 15 of the Declara-
tion of Rights of the Constitution of the State of Maryland,
granting the General Assembly the power to provide for the
separate assessment, classification and sub-classification of
land, improvements on land and personal property, and re-
quiring that all taxes levied shall be uniform as to each such
class or sub-class of land, improvements on land, and personal
property."
AND I DO certify, that at said election 315,710 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 64 of the Acts of 1960, and 136,658
votes were cast against adoption of said Chapter 64 of the Acts of
1960, the said Act has therefore been ratified by a majority of the
qualified voters of the State of Maryland.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of
Annapolis this 20th day of December, 1960.
