I, Thomas B. Finan, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition), Do
Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 8, 1960, an Act known as Chapter 642 of the
Acts of 1959, was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland,
pursuant to the provisions of Article 14 of the Constitution of the
State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
"An Act to propose an amendment to Section 21 of Article 4 of the
Constitution of Maryland, title 'Judiciary Department', sub-
title Tart Ill-Circuit Courts', increasing the number of Judges
in Prince George's County, RELATING TO THE ELIGIBILI-
TY OF MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR
THE OFFICE OF JUDGE, increasing the number of Judges in
Prince George's County and correcting an error in and re-
moving obsolete language from said section and submitting this
amendment to the qualified voters of the State for adoption or
rejection."
and I DO certify, that at said election 232,040 votes were
cast in favor of Chapter 642 of the Acts of 1959, and 171,028 votes
were cast against adoption of said Chapter 642 of the Acts of 1959,
the said Act has therefore been ratified by a majority of the qualified
voters of the State of Maryland.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of
Annapolis this 20th day of December, 1960.
