RESULTS OF VOTES ON CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS

I, Thomas B. Finan, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition), Do
Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 8, 1960, an Act known as Chapter 14 of the
Acts of 1959, was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland,
pursuant to the provisions of Article 14 of the Constitution of the
State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
"An Act to propose an amendment to Section 11 of Article 5 of
the Constitution of Maryland, title 'Attorney General and
State's Attorneys', sub-title 'State's Attorneys', amending
the constitutional provisions concerning the filling of vacancies
in the office of State's Attorneys to clarify the language with
respect to the filling of a vacancy in a county not having a
resident judge, and submitting this amendment to the qualified
voters of the State of Maryland for their adoption or rejection."
AND I DO certify, that at said election 328,370 votes were cast in
favor of the adoption of Chapter 14 of the Acts of 1959, and 97,015
votes were cast against adoption of said Chapter 14 of the Acts of
1959, the said Act has therefore been ratified by a majority of the
qualified voters of the State of Maryland.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of
Annapolis this 20th day of December, 1960.
