1726 Joint Resolutions
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Mary-
land Senators and Representatives in the Congress of the United
States review the administrative procedures used in acquiring ease-
ments of air rights adjacent to Andrews Air Force Base, Prince
George's County, Maryland, to determine whether or not they should
be changed, and be it further
Resolved, That a copy of this Resolution under the Great Seal of
the State of Maryland be sent by the Secretary of State to the Sec-
retary of Defense and to each Maryland Senator and Representative
in the Congress of the United States.

(House Joint Resolution 40)
House Joint Resolution to request the Governor of Maryland to
appoint an Air Transportation Survey Commission to prepare a
long-range plan for air carrier transportation services for Mary-
land.
Whereas, the present status of air carrier transportation services
to communities in Maryland is as follows:
The City of Cumberland has in the past enjoyed air carrier service
to a certain extent. With the recent curtailing of rail passenger
service, air carrier service became more significant and important.
There has been no air service to Cumberland since February 1, 1959.
The City of Hagerstown has been provided, with varying degree,
air carrier service since immediately after World War II. At present
this service is considered to be totally inadequate and insufficient.
The City of Easton enjoyed air service, designed to serve the
Easton-Cambridge area, until February 1, 1959. Since that date
there has been no service of a scheduled nature for this area.
The City of Salisbury has had various scheduled air service opera-
tions for a number of years. At present the service provided is in-
adequate and insufficient. In fact, the future of this service is in
doubt at this time.
The City of Baltimore, insofar as air carrier service is concerned,
has been the subject of discussion for many years. Service presently
provided is at best inadequate and the future of that which is now
available has been the subject of much concern to those interested in
aviation.
During recent years, service to Cumberland and Easton has been
rendered by Allegheny Airlines under a temporary certificate which
