1706                             Joint Resolutions

The people of the State of Maryland recognized Mr. Sybert's ability
when, in 1954, and again in 1958, they elected him as Attorney
General, the State's highest legal post.

The confidence of his fellow citizens in Mr. Sybert, as shown by
his repeated election to high office, has been fully justified for he has
rendered outstanding service in each office of public trust for which
he has been chosen and has compiled a notable record of accomplish-
ments.

The members of the General Assembly of Maryland are pleased
to note his advancement to the Judiciary; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the heartiest
congratulations and best wishes of this body be expressed to the
Honorable C. Ferdinand Sybert of Howard County upon the occasion
of his elevation to be Associate Judge of the Court of Appeals of
Maryland; and be it further

Resolved, That the General Assembly express to Governor J.
Millard Tawes its gratification over the excellence of this appoint-
ment.

House Joint Resolution pledging the wholehearted support of the
citizens of the State of Maryland to the Honorable John F. Kennedy
and the Honorable Lyndon B. Johnson on the occasion of their
inauguration as the President and Vice President of the United
States of America.

Whereas, The Honorable John F. Kennedy and the Honorable
Lyndon B. Johnson have contributed their efforts to many years of
public service and have distinguished themselves as men possessing
outstanding leadership qualities, and

Whereas, The American people have elected them to the highest
offices of this nation, the Presidency and Vice Presidency of the
United States of America, and

Whereas, The citizens of the Great State of Maryland, through
their elected representatives in the General Assembly of Maryland
desire to extend their warm and sincere congratulations to the Honor-
able John F. Kennedy and the Honorable Lyndon B. Johnson on the
occasion of their inauguration to the Presidency and Vice Presidency
of the United States of America and desire to pledge to them their
