CHAPTER 881
(House Bill 639)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-section (f)
of Section 32 of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
(1957 Edition and 1960 Cumulative Supplement) title "State
Roads", sub-title "Distribution and use of Special Funds", increas-
ing from five million dollars ($5,000,000) to six million dollars
($6,000,000) the amount which may be transferred annually in
case of an emergency from the Construction Fund to the Motor
Vehicle Revenue Fund to be used for the maintenance and opera-
tion of the State highway system.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-section (f) of Section 32 of Article 89B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition and 1960 Cumulative Supplement)
title "State Roads", sub-title "Distribution and use of Special Funds",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

32.

(f) In case of an emergency whereby the Motor Vehicle Revenue
Fund created by Section 303 of Article 66½ is insufficient to main-
tain properly the State highway system, the State Roads -Commis-
sion, with the consent of the Governor and under the provisions of
Section 8 of Article 15A, may in any fiscal year, transfer from the
Construction Fund described in this section, to the Motor Vehicle
Revenue Fund, a sum not to exceed [five million dollars ($5,000,000)]
six million dollars ($6,000,000), in such fiscal year, such funds, when
so transferred, to be used for the maintenance and operation of the
State highway system.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 882
(House Bill 648)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3(o) of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Elections", sub-title "Supervisors of Elections and Em-
ployees", providing specific amounts of compensation for the chair-
man and members of the Board of Supervisors of Elections of
Howard County.
