CHAPTER 165
(House Bill 105)

AN ACT to add a new Section 555A to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments",
to follow immediately after Section 555 thereof and to be under
the new sub-title "Telephone Misuse", making unlawful the use of
telephone facilities or equipment for certain types of telephone
calls, comments, requests, suggestions, or proposals and providing
a penalty for the violation of this section.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 555A be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Crimes and
Punishments", to follow immediately after Section 555 thereof and
to be under the new sub-title "Telephone Misuse," and to read as
follows:

555A. Telephone Misuse. It is unlawful for any person to make
use of telephone facilities or equipment (1) for an anonymous call
or calls if in a manner reasonably to be expected to annoy, abuse, tor-
ment, harass, or embarrass one or more persons; (2) for repeated
calls, if with intent to annoy, abuse, torment, harass, or embarrass
one or more persons; or (3) for any comment, request, suggestion
or proposal which is obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, or indecent. Any
person violating any one of the provisions of this section is guilty of
a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a
fine of not more than $500.00 or to imprisonment for not more than
twelve months, or both, in the discretion of the court.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 166
(House Bill 125)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 143 (c) of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Surety Bonds", relating
generally to the filing of surety bonds and cash money security with
the liquor control board of Harford County by certain Harford
County retail licensees.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

(1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Surety Bonds",
