taking soft shell clams. Each boat or rig may be equipped with not
more than one blade and one water manifold, the width between the
exterior jets attached thereto not to exceed 86 inches. The water jet
pipe at each end of the manifold shall be set parallel to the median
vertical longitudinal plane of the dredge, or inward toward the center
thereof,
EXCEPT IN THE WATERS OF QUEEN ANNE COUNTY
WHERE EACH BOAT SHALL HAVE BUT ONE CONVEYOR
OR ELEVATOR NOT TO EXCEED 19 FEET IN LENGTH,
MEASURED FROM AXLE TO AXLE.

All hydraulic or mechanical clam dredges and boats operating
under the provisions of this section shall have properly installed
adequate mufflers on all motors and engines used in the operation of
said boat or hydraulic or mechanical clam dredge. The Commission
of Tidewater Fisheries may require such modifications to the hy-
draulic clam dredge and/or licensed dredge boats and rigs as may be
demonstrated to be in the public interest through research in the
Department of Research and Education and recommended for adop-
tion to the latter agency. Any person violating any provision of this
subsection shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon convic-
tion thereof shall be fined not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more
than twenty-five dollars ($25.00).

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 851
(House Bill 150)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 45 of
Chapter 780 of the Acts of 1959, this Act having enacted the sub-
title "Park and Planning Commission," to be added to the Mont-
gomery County Code—1955, being Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County (1953 Edition, being Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), and said Section 45 be-
ing in the sub-heading "Metropolitan District," amending the laws
relating to the Maryland-Washington-Metropolitan District in
order to provide for a calculation to determine the limitation on
the Commission's bond issue to authorize public or private sale
of bond issues and to provide for their redemption and to provide
that certain provisions of said sub-title apply to proceeds of bond
issues which are expended for the benefit of the Metropolitan Dis-
trict within Montgomery County; AND RELATING GENERALLY
TO BONDS ISSUED BY THE MARYLAND NATIONAL CAPI-
TAL PARK AND PLANNING COMMISSION.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 45 of Chapter 780 of the Acts of 1959, this Act having
enacted the sub-title "Park and Planning Commission," to be added
to the Montgomery County Code—1955, being Article 16 of the Code
