generally, of bow and arrow, B.B. guns and certain other devices
in Anne Arundel County, and to provide penalties for violations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 14-18 be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1957 Edition, being
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne
Arundel County," sub-title "Chapter 14. Offenses—Miscellaneous,"
to follow immediately after Section 14-17 thereof, to read as follows:

14-18. (a) In Anne Arundel County it shall be unlawful for any
person, firm or corporation to sell, give away, lend, or otherwise
transfer to any minor under the age of eighteen (18) years, except
with the express permission of a parent or guardian of such minor,
any bow and arrow or any B.B. gun, slingshot, or other device by
whatever name or description known, designed to discharge a pellet
or other object by force of a spring, elastic band, gas cylinder, air
cylinder or gas or air cartridge.

(b)   It shall be unlawful for any person in Anne Arundel County
to discharge or use any such bow and arrow, B.B. gun, sling shot
or device, except on private property with the express permission
of the owner or other person entitled to possession of such property
and in such a manner as to prevent the discharged pellet or object
from traversing any grounds or space outside the limits of such
property, or except at an indoor or outdoor target range under the
supervision of an adult.

(c)  Nothing in this section shall be construed to make lawful any-
thing otherwise prohibited by law.

(d)   Any violation of this section shall be deemed a misdemeanor
punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00)
or imprisonment for not more than sixty (60) days, or both in the
discretion of the court.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
