his probationary period, shall die from natural causes, shall receive
fifty percentum (50%) of his monthly salary at the time of his
death. Upon her death or remarriage the salary shall be paid to
any of his unmarried children under the age of nineteen years as a
group, each child becoming ineligible to receive any part of the
salary upon reaching the age of nineteen years. If the wife has
predeceased the engineman at the time of his death, and he leaves
at his death an unmarried child or children under the age of nine-
teen years, they shall receive the annual salary as stated, until reach-
ing the age of nineteen years. Notwithstanding the above provisions,
if, at the death of the widow, there is any child or children of such
deceased engineman totally and permanently disabled, the salary
shall be paid to such child or children for the life of the child or
children.
10-20.5. The term "salary at time of retirement" as used herein
shall mean the salary of enginemen in active duty of the same rank
and grade WITH THE SAME DURATION OF SERVICE as that
held by the retired engineman at the time of his retirement.
10-20.6. THIS DIVISION SHALL NOT APPLY TO THE CITY
OF ANNAPOLIS.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 823
(House Bill 415)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 101 of
Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Insurance", sub-title "Fireworks", providing that the term
"fireworks" shall not include certain devices containing less than
a specified explosive compound, allowing the sale and use of: such
devices at all times, and providing that no political subdivision
may enact any law or make any regulation inconsistent with the
provisions of this section.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 101 of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "Fireworks", be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

The term "fireworks" as used in this sub-title shall mean fire-
crackers, squibs, rockets, sparklers, Roman candles, torpedoes, bombs,
