Commissioners of Queen Anne's County to license and regulate
fortune telling in the county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 183B(8A) be and it is hereby added to Article 18
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Queen Anne's County", sub-title "County Commissioners", to
follow immediately after Section 183B(8) thereof, Section 183B hav-
ing been added by Chapter 274 of 1957, and to read as follows:

183B(8A). To license and regulate all persons engaged in the
telling of fortunes, such persons being commonly known as fortune
tellers, palmists, or soothsayers. No such person shall be licensed
unless he has been a resident of the county for at least five years,
and unless he pays real property taxes to the county. The annual fee
for a license under this section shall be not less than one thousand
dollars ($1,000.00).

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

(Senate Bill 286)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 9 (31) of
Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960 Supplement),
title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "For What Period And As To
What Date Taxes Are Levied", "WHAT SHALL BE TAXED
AND WHERE", relating to the exemption from assessment and
taxation of the Howard County Historical Society. AND OF THE
WORCESTER COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 9 (31) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1960 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "For

What Period And As To What Date Taxes Are Levied," "WHAT

SHALL BE TAXED AND WHERE", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

9 (31).

Property, real and personal, owned by the Historical Society of
Frederick County, Inc., the Montgomery County Historical Society,
Inc., the Historical Society of Talbot County, Maryland, Inc., the
Dorchester County Historical Society, Inc., the Historical Society of
Kent County, Maryland, Inc., the Howard County Historical Society,
Inc.,
THE WORCESTER COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, and
Historic Annapolis, Inc., and any other nonprofit society or agency
