relating generally to the salary of the Master of Juvenile Causes
in Prince George's County, his duties, his personnel, their salaries,
matters incident thereto and certain technical changes.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 920 and 922 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County (1953 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code
Public Local Laws of Maryland) as enacted by the Laws of Mary-
land 1957, Chapter 803, title "Prince George's County", sub-title
"Juvenile Causes", relating generally to the salary of the Master of
Juvenile Causes in Prince George's County, his duties, his personnel,
their salaries, matters incident thereto and certain technical changes.
"JUVENILE CAUSES" BE AND ARE HEREBY REPEALED
AND RE-ENACTED, WITH AMENDMENTS, TO READ AS
FOLLOWS:

920.

The Circuit Court for Prince George's County is authorized and
empowered to designate, appoint and employ a qualified person to
be known as the Master for Juvenile Causes of the Circuit Court of
Prince George's County, who shall be a member of the Bar of the
State of Maryland, at [such salary as the Judges of the Circuit
Court may order and approve,] an annual salary of $8,000.00 to be
paid by the County Commissioners of Prince George's County. The
duties of the Master for Juvenile Causes shall be such as may be
prescribed by the Judges of the Circuit Court for Prince George's
County.

The Circuit Court of Prince George's County is authorized and
empowered to designate, appoint and employ qualified persons for
performance of duties, in connection with Juvenile Causes, in the
office of the Clerk of said Court or for probation and parole assign-
ment under the jurisdiction of said Court and for administration,
treatment, psychological, investigative and clerical service for said
Court in relation to Juvenile Causes. Such personnel as may be
appointed by the Court shall perform such duties as may be pre-
scribed by the Judges of the Circuit Court of Prince George's County,
shall serve in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court or as may
be otherwise prescribed by the Circuit Court, and shall be entitled
to receive such salary as [the Judges of the Circuit Court may order
and approve,] is allowed for comparable employment by the State
of Maryland for State employees in accordance with the pay scale
in effect from time to time, for State employees of the State of
Maryland,
the same to be paid as part of the expense of the office
of the Clerk of said Circuit Court, as is provided by law respecting
salaries paid to personnel in the office of said Clerk, or to be paid
by the County Commissioners of Prince George's County as the
Circuit Court for said County may prescribe and direct. The Pro-
bation and Parole officers now serving in Prince George's County,
under the direction of the State [Division] Department of Parole
and Probation, for probation and parole purposes, shall continue in
office and shall be assigned such duties in connection with the func-
tions of the Circuit Court, or the Master for Juvenile Causes, as the
[Court] County Commissioners may direct and shall receive com-
pensation from the Board of County Commissioners in such sums
