contracts may be protected by such bonds, penalties and conditions
as the Commission shall require, all of which shall be enforceable
in any court having jurisdiction.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 742
(House Bill 304)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1563 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1953
Edition), and Section 74-28 of the Montgomery County Code (1955
Edition), being Articles 17 and 16, respectively, of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, titles "Prince George's County"
and "Montgomery County", sub-title "Washington Suburban
Sanitary District", as said sections were last repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, by Chapter 647 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1955, relating to the authority
of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission to acquire land
and interests therein by purchase or condemnation,. and removing
the presently found exceptions as to the Commission's authority
with respect to land used for cemetery purposes.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1563 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1953 Edition), and Section 74-28 of the Mont-
gomery County Code (1955 Edition), being, respectively, Articles
17 and 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, titles
"Prince George's County", and "Montgomery County", sub-title
"Washington Suburban Sanitary District", as said sections were re-
pealed and re-enacted by Chapter 647 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1955, be and they are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

1563 (74-28). The members of said Commission shall be a body
corporate by the name of the "Washington Suburban Sanitary Com-
mission", with the right to use a common seal, to sue and be sued,
and to do any and all other corporate acts for the purpose of carrying
out the provisions of this sub-title. In the event of a judgment at law
or in equity being recovered against said Commission or for the pur-
pose of amicably adjusting threatened or pending litigation, the Com-
mission shall at the annual tax levying period of the County Council
of Montgomery County and the County Commissioners of Prince
George's County next succeeding the rendition of said judgment or
compromise, certify to said County Council of Montgomery County
