the County Commissioners of Baltimore County, who shall have and
receive a salary of one thousand dollars per year each, including
mileage, payable monthly by the treasurer of said county; and said
county County Commissioners of Baltimore County are hereby re-
quired and directed to meet at their office in the courthouse in
Towson, on Tuesday and Wednesday of each week, and to meet daily
for the transaction of the public business from the first Tuesday in
March until after the annual levy is made, except that compensa-
tion for County Commissioners of Talbot County shall be as set forth
in Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland and com-
pensation for County Commissioners of St. Mary's County shall be
as set forth in Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 47 of Article 19
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"St Mary's County", sub-title "County Commissioners", as amended
by Chapter 719 of the Acts of 1957, be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

47.

The [Chairman] President of the County Commissioners of St.
Mary's County shall receive a salary of [Twenty-four Hundred
Dollars ($2,400.00)] Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) per year,
and the other Commissioners shall receive a salary of [Two Thou-
sand Dollars ($2,000.00)] Two Thousand Five-Hundred Dollars
($2,500.00)
per year. The attorney to the County Commissioners

of St. Mary's County shall receive a salary of Two Thousand Dol-

lars ($2,000.00) per year.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall not be construed to extend or apply to the President or Com-
missioners of St. Mary's County in office on the effective date of
this Act, but shall take effect with the next term of office. The pro-
visions of this Act relating to the salary of the attorney to the County
Commissioners of St. Mary's County shall be effective on the effec-
tive date of this Act.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
