direct connection with or access to any food, drug or pharmaceu-
tical, or other business establishment of the type commonly known
as chain stores, super markets, or discount houses, in Allegany
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new sub-section be and it is hereby added to Section 45 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "General Provisions on Issue of
Licenses", said new sub-section to be known as Sub-section (g), to
follow immediately after Sub-section (f) of said Section 45, and to
read as follows:

45.

(g) No Class A, B or D Beer, Wine and Liquor License shall be
granted, transferred or issued to, or for use in conjunction with, or
upon the premises of, or upon premises having any direct or indirect
connection with or access to any food, drug or pharmaceutical, or
other business establishment of the type commonly known as chain
stores, super markets, or discount houses, in Allegany County.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency law and necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public health and safety, and being passed on a yea and nay
vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of
the two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

(House Bill 925)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 28 of
Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960 Supplement),
title "County Commissioners", sub-title "General Provisions", and
Section 47 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County', sub-title "County
Commissioners", as amended by Chapter 719 of the Acts of 1957,
relating to the salaries of the President, Commissioners, and at-
torney to the AND County Commissioners of St. Mary's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 28 of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1960 Supplement), title "County Commissioners", sub-title "General
Provisions", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows :

28.

The County Commissioners of the several counties shall each
receive three dollars per day for each day they shall be engaged in
the discharge of their duties, and mileage at the rate of ten cents
for every mile over five miles from their places of residence, except
