(House Bill 874)                             

AN ACT to add new Sections 25A-1 to 25A-10 to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1957 Edition, being Article
2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne
Arundel County", sub-title "Local Laws Applicable to Cities, Towns
and Special Taxing Areas", to follow immediately after Section
25-10 of said Code, and to be under the new sub-heading "Chapter
25A. Seventh and Eighth Election District Ambulance and Rescue
Companies", providing for the levy and collection of a special tax
in the Seventh and Eighth Election Districts of Anne Arundel
County to be paid to the Seventh District Ambulance and Rescue
Squad, Inc. for the purpose of providing ambulance, rescue and life
saving facilities and equipment, relating to the accounting for and
disbursement of said funds, providing certain rules and regulations
which must be complied with by said squad, relating generally to
the establishment and maintenance of ambulance, rescue and life
saving equipment in said Election Districts and providing for a
referendum thereon.

Whereas, There is urgent need for ambulance, rescue and life
saving service in the Seventh and Eighth Election Districts of Anne
Arundel County due to the large number of beaches and waterfront
communities in the said Districts and due to the many heavily traveled
highways passing through the said Districts, resulting in many calls
for ambulance and rescue service; now, therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 25A-1 to 25A-10 be and they are hereby added
to the Code of Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1957
Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Local Laws Ap-
plicable to Cities, Towns and Special Taxing Areas", to follow im-
mediately after Section 25-10 of said Code, and to be under the new
sub-heading "Chapter 25A. Seventh and Eighth Election District
Ambulance and Rescue Companies", to read as follows:

Chapter 25A. Seventh and Eighth Election District Ambulance
and Rescue Companies.

25A-1. The provisions of this Chapter shall only apply to and be
effective in the Seventh and Eighth Election Districts of Anne Arundel
County.
