come effective, it shall first be submitted to the legally qualified voters
of the seventh election district of Anne Arundel County at the Gen-
eral Election to be held in November, 1962. There shall be printed on
the ballots or ballot labels, to be used at the election, the title of
this Act and underneath the title, on separate lines, a square or box
to the right of and opposite the words "For the Sale", and a corre-
sponding square or box to the right of and opposite the words
"Against the Sale", so that the voters of the seventh election district
of the county are able to designate his or her decision for or against
this Act. If a majority of the votes cast in the election in the seventh
election district of the county are "For the Sale", then this Act is
effective, but if a majority of the votes cast in the seventh election dis-
trict of the county are "Against The Sale", then this Act is null and
void.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

(House Bill 693)

AN ACT to add Section 20 (m-3) to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1960 Supplement), title
"Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses",
to follow immediately after Section 20 (m-2) thereof, providing
generally for the issuance of a Class C license under the Alcoholic
Beverages Law to certain golf and country clubs in Washington
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 20 (m-3) be and it is hereby added to Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1960 Supple-
ment), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer, Wine and Liquor
Licenses", to follow immediately after Section 20 (m-2) thereof,
and to read as follows:

20 (m-3). A special Class C Golf and Country Club License shall
be issued, upon approval by the Board of License Commissioners
of Washington County, to any golf and country club in said county
applying therefor which has two hundred or more bona fide mem-
bers paying dues of not less than $30 per annum per member,
whether or not said club is operated for profit, which maintains a
regular or championship golf course of nine holes or more. Such
a license shall authorize the holder thereof to keep for sale and to
sell at retail any alcoholic beverages to bona fide members of the
club and their guests at the place described in said license, for con-
sumption on the premises and grounds of such club. The annual fee
for such a golf and country club license shall be $250 for the li-
cense year commencing in May of each year, which fee shall be paid
to the clerk of the circuit court of Washington County before any
such license is issued. The application for any such license filed on
