removal of snow and ice on paved sidewalks within the County and
matters related thereto, with certain exceptions.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 17-13 be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1957 Edition, being Article 2
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel
County", sub-title "Roads, Streets and Sidewalks", to follow immedi-
ately after Section 17-12 thereof, and to read as follows:

17-13.

The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County are hereby
authorized to make and enforce rules regulating the duty of persons
using, occupying or owning property adjoining paved sidewalks within
the County (excepting those sidewalks situate within the City
of Annapolis) to remove snow and ice from such sidewalks; such
rules as are adopted may apply to any or all or
OF the Districts of
Anne Arundel County and may vary from District to District as local
conditions require. Violations of such rules as are adopted may be
punished by fine or removal of the snow or ice condition by the County
at the expense of the person required by rule so to do, or both.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 721

(House Bill 687)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 28 (c) of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Local Licenses and License
Provisions", relating to the alcoholic content of beverages sold by
alcoholic beverage Licensees in the Seventh Election District of
Anne Arundel County, and providing for a referendum thereon.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 28 (c) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1960 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Local
Licenses and License Provisions", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

28 (c). No license for the sale of alcoholic beverages containing more
than fourteen per centum of alcohol by volume shall be issued in the
first, [seventh,] and eighth election districts of said county.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That before this Act shall be-
