Each reporter shall be paid such a salary as [said Judges] the Board
of County Commissioners of Prince George's County
may fix not to
exceed the sum of [$6,000.00] $7,500.00 per annum, payable by the
County Commissioners of Prince George's County, as other Court
expenses are paid. [Said] Each reporter shall attend and take full
stenographic notes of, or otherwise record, all oral testimony and
Judicial opinions in such proceedings as the Court may from time
to time direct. [Said] Each reporter shall make and furnish to any
party, upon request, a transcript of any part of said notes, upon the
payment by such party of the expenses of such transcript at a rate to
be approved by the Court.

The Court may, in any case pending in said court, direct [such]
the reporter to transcribe the notes taken with respect to such case
and to provide that the cost thereof at the rates aforesaid shall be
taxed as part of the cost in such case, or, if the Court shall so direct,
be paid as a part of the Court expenses.

Provided that nothing contained in this Act will impair the au-
thority of the Circuit Court for Prince George's County to employ a
Court Reporter on a per diem pursuant to the provisions of Chapter
297 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1951, now codified as
Sec. 288 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County,
AS THE SAME MAY BE NOW OR HEREAFTER AMENDED,
when the need therefor shall become apparent.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

June 1, 1961.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE EMERGENCY MEASURE AND
NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION OF THE
PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND HAVING BEEN PASSED
BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE SUPPORTED BY THREE-FIFTHS
OF THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF THE TWO HOUSES
OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THE SAME SHALL TAKE
EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.

35A of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1960 Sup-
plement), title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title "Application
of Article; Extra-Hazardous Employments"; to repeal Section 212
(e) of Article 89B of said Code (1957 Edition), title "State Roads",
sub-title "Convict Labor"; and to add a new Section 188A to Article
