(1957 Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Chapter 2.
Administration", sub-heading "Article III. County Commis-
sioners", to follow immediately after Section 2-30 thereof, to
authorize the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County to
establish and regulate hours for themselves and DAYS AND
HOURS OF WORK for all offices in the county government.

Section . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
OF MARYLAND, THAT CHAPTER 607 OF THE ACTS OF 1959
BE AND IT IS HEREBY REPEALED.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 2-30.1
be and it is hereby added to the Anne Arundel County Code (1957
Edition, being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Chapter 2. Adminis-
tration", sub-heading "Article III. County Commissioners", said new
section to follow immediately after Section 2-30 and to read as
follows:

2-30.1

The Board of County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County, in
its discretion and as the best interests of the county government and
of the residents and employees of the county require, from time to
time may establish and regulate the office hours and working hours
of the County Commissioners and
DAYS AND HOURS OF WORK
of all offices and employments within and under the county govern-
ment.;
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT ANY DEPARTMENTS
OF THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT WHICH ARE CLOSED ON
SATURDAYS MAY BE OPEN IN WHOLE OR IN PART FOR
THE TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS ON ANY THURSDAY
EVENING DURING HOURS TO BE SET BY THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND ANY EMPLOYEES WORK-
ING ON SUCH THURSDAY EVENINGS SHALL BE COMPEN-
SATED FOR SUCH EXTRA WORK; AND PROVIDED FURTHER
THAT NOTHING IN THIS SECTION SHALL BE CONSTRUED
TO ALTER OR AFFECT THE REGULAR TUESDAY, AND
THURSDAY NIGHT MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS.

Sec. 2 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.
