(1957 Edition), title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title "Claims
and Compensation; Benefits", be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
36.
(2) In case of temporary total disability, sixty-six and two-thirds
per centum of the average weekly wages shall be paid to the employee
during the continuance thereof, but not to exceed a maximum of forty
dollars per week, and not less than a minimum of eighteen dollars
per week, unless the employee's established weekly wages are less
than eighteen dollars per week at the time of the injury, in which
event he shall receive compensation equal to his full wages; but in no
case to continue more than [six] four years from the date of the
injury [or to exceed five thousand dollars in the aggregate]. Nothing
in this subsection shall be construed or applied to affect or change the
law as to any such injury or strain which occurred prior to the effec-
tive date of this subsection.
Sec. 2. And be further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

(House Bill 220)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 36(8) of
Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (I960 Supplement),
title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title "Claims and Compensa-
tion; Benefits", amending the laws concerning the payment of
workmen's compensation with particular respect to payment to
dependents and to the duration of such payments and the conditions
for such payments.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 36(8) of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1960 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title
"Claims and Compensation; Benefits", be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
36.
(8) (a) In case the injury causes death within the period of
[three] five years the benefits shall be in the amounts and to the
persons following: If there are wholly dependent persons at the time
of death, the payment shall be sixty-six and two-thirds per centum
of the average weekly wages, not to exceed, however, a maximum of
forty dollars per week, and not less than a minimum of fifteen dollars
per week unless the deceased employee's established weekly wages
