(1959 Edition, being Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "County Commission-
ers", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
19.
Each County Commissioner of Wicomico County shall receive an
annual salary of [one thousand dollars] fifteen hundred dollars
($1,500.00), payable monthly during the term of such County Com-
missioner, or proportionate part thereof; the payment of said salary
shall be provided for in the annual levy in each and every year, and
paid in the same manner as other indebtedness of said county is paid.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall not be construed to extend or apply to the County Commission-
ers in office on the effective date of this Act, but shall take effect
with the next term of office.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

AN ACT to add new Section 14A-1 to the Frederick County Code,
1959 (being Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Frederick County", to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 14-2 thereof, and to be under the new sub-title, "Chapter
14A. Tax Exemptions", to authorize a county tax exemption for the
property of certain persons aged 65 or over in Frederick County,
and to prescribe the manner of application for the exemption.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 14A-1 be and is hereby added to the Frederick
County Code, 1959 (being Article 11 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Frederick County", to follow immediately
after Section 14-2 thereof, and to be under the new sub-title, "Chap-
ter 14A. Tax Exemptions", and to read as follows:
Tax Exemptions
14A-1.
(a) The County Commissioners of Frederick County for purposes
of county real property taxes levied by Frederick County are au-
thorized to grant an exemption of fifteen hundred dollars ($1500.)
from the assessed valuation of the real property of any person over
the age of sixty-five (65) years who has been a bona fide resident of
Frederick County for the preceding five years and whose total gross
income is twelve hundred dollars ($1200.) or less per year from all
sources, and who has legal or beneficial title to real property in the
