thirty-three cents (33c) or fraction thereof in excess of the even
dollar (s).]

(a)  On each sale where the price is from twenty-five cents (25c)
to thirty-three cents (33c), both inclusive, one cent (1c);

(b)  On each sale where the price is from thirty-four cents (34c)
to sixty-six cents (66c), both inclusive, two cents (2c);

(c)  On each sale where the price is from sixty-seven cents (67c)
to one dollar ($1) both inclusive, three cents (3c);

(d)  On each sale where the price is in excess of one dollar ($1),
three cents (3c) on each even dollar plus one cent (lc) for each thirty-
three cents (33c) or fraction thereof in excess of the even dollar (s).

[(d)] (e) In those cases in which tangible personal property has
first been used in some other state, a credit of ten percent (10%) of
the purchase price for each full year after its purchase shall be
allowed in computing the tax imposed by this sub-title.

The tax shall be due and payable at the rates set forth herein on
the use, storage or consumption of taxable items which first occurs
after [January 1,1959,] June 1, 1961, without regard to the purchase
date, provided such purchase was made on or after July 1,1947.

Sec. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 656

(Senate Bill 336)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 124 (a)
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments",
sub-title "The Executive Department", sub-heading "Department
of Parole and Probation", allowing the Board of Parole and Pro-
bation to consider the parole of any prisoner who has served in
confinement one-fourth of his term.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 124 (a) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative
Departments", sub-title "The Executive Department", sub-heading
"Department of Parole and Probation", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
